About Clarity

Clarity Veterinary Surgical Center is a new outpatient veterinary surgical and dental practice opening in Denver in July 2026. We believe communities deserve accessible, evidence-based surgical care for their pets, and that the people who deliver it deserve a workplace grounded in intentional kindness, psychological safety, and evidence-based practice. Our values aren't aspirational slogans; they're how we communicate with every pet family, and support each other every day.

About this role

This is a hands-on, procedure-filled clinical role for a credentialed technician who is excited to spend every day doing what they trained for: scrubbing in, managing anesthesia, and delivering exceptional patient care in a purpose-built surgical environment. You'll work directly alongside our veterinarians on orthopedic, soft tissue, and dental cases, from induction through recovery.

We're looking for someone who brings clinical confidence, a collaborative spirit, and a genuine commitment to growth. At Clarity, we practice pragmatic care: we balance clinical evidence with real-world context, and we communicate openly with pet families about what we recommend and why. You'll be a key part of that.

What you'll do

  • Induce, monitor, and manage anesthesia for surgical and dental patients, including multi-parameter monitoring
  • Scrub in and assist during orthopedic procedures (TPLO, fracture repair, MPL) and soft tissue surgeries
  • Circulate for surgical cases: anticipate instrument needs, manage sterile field integrity, and document intraoperative events
  • Conduct pre-operative diagnostics including bloodwork and radiographs
  • Calculate and prepare drug protocols, CRIs, and fluid plans; maintain controlled substance records with complete accuracy
  • Monitor and manage post-operative patients through recovery, assessing pain levels, vitals, and anesthetic emergence
  • Communicate with pet families at intake, drop-off, and discharge, including pre-surgical drop-off consultations (as trained by the Medical Director), go-home instruction delivery, and post-operative care demonstrations. Every interaction should reflect the clarity, empathy, and transparency that define how we practice.
  • Participate in and help enforce the surgical safety checklist at every case
  • Mentor and support veterinary assistants on clinical skills and surgical suite protocols
  • Maintain equipment in working order: anesthesia machines, monitoring equipment, dental units, and diagnostic analyzers
  • Contribute to shared facility responsibilities. Our lean model runs on shared ownership, and every team member pitches in where needed.
  • Participate in case debriefs and contribute observations that help the team improve. Every voice matters here.

What we're looking for

Required:

  • Active Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) credential in Colorado, or eligible for reciprocity and able to obtain prior to start
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical experience, with at least 1 year in a surgical, dental, or specialty environment
  • Demonstrated proficiency in anesthetic induction, monitoring, and recovery across a range of patient sizes and ASA classifications
  • Strong working knowledge of aseptic technique, sterile gowning/gloving, and instrument handling
  • Comfort with high-quality, high-volume surgical scheduling (6–8+ cases/day per surgeon)
  • Proficient with practice management software, digital medical records, and diagnostic equipment interfaces. Comfortable adopting new technology; Clarity uses integrated systems for scheduling, client communication, and clinical documentation.

Preferred:

  • Experience supporting TPLO, fracture repair, or other advanced orthopedic procedures
  • VTS (Anesthesia & Analgesia) or VTS (Surgery) specialty certification, or active pursuit thereof (compensation commensurate with specialty certification)
  • Dental radiography and prophylaxis proficiency
  • Experience in a high-throughput outpatient or ambulatory surgical model

Physical requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and restrain animals up to 40 lbs independently (with team assistance for larger patients), bend, kneel, and reach
  • Ability to work in proximity to anesthetic gases, radiographic equipment, and cleaning chemicals

What we offer

Compensation: $26.44–$30.29/hour ($55,000–$63,000 annually)

Salary within range based on experience, surgical specialization, and credentials.

  • Health insurance contribution (medical, dental, and vision)
  • Over 4 weeks of total paid time away per year: 2 weeks flexible PTO (1 week available from day one), a paid holiday closure from Christmas Eve through New Year's Day, 4 additional paid holidays, and 2 paid CE days for professional development
  • Colorado FAMLI leave, up to 12 weeks paid family and medical leave
  • 401(k) retirement plan
  • $1,000 annual continuing education allowance (paid by the practice) with support for VTS specialty pursuit
  • Discounted surgical and dental care for your own pets
  • Clarity-provided branded scrubs
  • A surgical-focused practice where you operate at the top of your credential every single day
  • Psychological safety as a core value: we debrief, we learn, we don't blame
  • Founding team influence. Help build the culture, protocols, and standards from day one.
